Course Description
This basic level, technical training course is suitable for anyone who wants to begin their nail technician career or refresh their knowledge of years gone by, whether in a professional setting or simply working from home. in This course teaches you will learn the basic knowledge required to create a flawless gel polish application that lasts, using current technical tips, tricks and trends.
upon completion, you will be awarded the equivalent of TWO Certificates in one, both of which, are AIT (Associated Irish Therapists) accredited, which means you are fully certified, insurable and ready to start your nail career immediately!
you will be taught about a variety of topics such as, the anatomy of the natural nail, health & safety, hygiene, correct use of products, tools and accessories, as well as the correct application and finish of the gel polish system. You will be provided with the necessary information regarding skin and nail diseases or disorders, to help protect you and others and to help you know when it is safe to perform a gel polish treatment. teaching will be carried out through a variety of methods, including theory, live demonstrations and practical guidance and supervision when implementing the techniques upon yourselves and on each other.
The theoretical part of the course will be explained first - we recommend each student take notes and write information down as it is explained, so that they can refer to this knowledge later in the course and again at home if they need to recall anything.
After the theory, E-File training will commence with a demonstration. Again it is strongly advised to take note of the step by step process, as after the demonstration ends, youwill begin working on your own hands.
after break, a Gel Polish application demo will take place, before continuing to work on yourselves.
constant guidance and supervision is provided throughout the day to help any student that requires further assistance and answer any questions you may have.
The group course is held with a max capacity of four, to allow appropriate interaction between the educator and student. This ensures proper time allocation to each student, each student will be treated with respect and importance, with no barriers or prejudice.
Students will receive recognised, Kohana Professional Certificates, by Kohana Professional upon successful completion of the course. The certificates are AIT (Associated Irish Therapists) accredited. (Students must pass in all areas of the course, including theoretical and practical work, to receive their certificate.

What you need on the day:
- Notebook and pen, (for taking extra notes)
Please Note:
*All nail products, tools and drill bits will be supplied on the day for students to work with and use.
*lunch will be provided on the day
*a voucher will be issued to the email provided upon completion of the course for you to use on the Kohana professional online shop.
* i will be in touch the evening before, on the number provided upon booking the course, to inform and confirm the course start time, details if any changes and if anything else is required.

Terms & Conditions
Age Restrictions:
Courses are suitable for those aged 16 or over, unless otherwise stated.
Course Schedule:
All courses are subject to demand. In the unlikely event that a course or workshop does not obtain the necessary numbers in order to initially run, applicants will receive a full refund or the opportunity to change their application to the next time that course runs.
In the rare event that a course structure must be changed or amended, students will be given notice. The training centre reserves the right to change course dates, times and duration at its own discretion and where it feels necessary.
Cancellations:
If you wish to cancel a course booking, you must do so no later than 10 days before the course start date, otherwise the deposit payment can not be refunded. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled less than 10 days before the course date. This is also the case for any “no-show” attendances. It is the students responsibility to remember their course dates and times and reply within the given time if something has changed for them.
Deposit Payment:
A deposit payment of 50% is required upon booking to secure placings.
The outstanding amount is due by/on the day of the course.

Applicants have the option to pay the course fees in full or secure their place with a 50% deposit payment online and pay the balance on the course date in store with cash. i do not have a card machine in salon at this time. Payment can be made via cash on the day or card online before the course date. (We do not accept personal cheques).
Attending a course at Emma Forde Nail Academy:
You will be contacted a day prior to your course start date via text message with a reminder for the day and time to attend. Deposits are non-refundable/transferable in the event of a no-show without proper notice within the appropriate time as mentioned above.
