*A model is not required for day one. A model is recommended for day 2, but Students

can work on their own hands if desired.

Course Description

This course is also a beginner's entry-level and is designed to teach you how to create strong, natural-looking nail extensions using tips. It's run over two separate days, giving students the opportunity to practice and revise at home in-between training days. This is a fully Accredited course by AIT (Associated Irish Therapists)

 

Classes are held in small groups, in order to allow me to provide individualised attention and guidance to each student. This approach guarantees a hands-on learning experience where every student’s needs are met with care and respect.

Students will receive recognised, Kohana Professional Certificates, by Kohana Professional upon successful completion of the course. The certificates are AIT (Associated Irish Therapists) accredited. (Students must pass in all areas of the course, including theoretical and practical work, to receive their certificate.

Day 1

(Students work on their own hands)

  • Welcoming introduction to the course.

  • Health and safety regulations for a professional nail salon environment.

  • Correct hygiene, disinfection, and sterilization practices.

  • Nail diseases and disorders and how to recognize them.

  • Contraindications to performing any nail treatment.

  • a look at all products and steps required for gel nails, ensuring safe application.

  • Understanding gel types

  • selecting the correct primers for optimal adhesion and durability.

  • Natural nail anatomy and preparation techniques.

  • In-depth explanation of natural and extended nail structure, looking at apex placement and stress points towards achieving the correct application and balance of product.

  • Introduction to Basic Gel Extensions using tips: theory and demonstration of application.

  • Step-by-step guidance on preparing, applying, and blending tips for extensions.

  • Learning to create oval, almond, and square nail shapes with tips, focusing on correct structure, accurate filing, and symmetry.

  • Understanding correct nail filing techniques.

  • Aftercare instructions for gel nails.
     

Day 2:

(Students work on their model's nails)

  • Recap of Day 1, addressing any questions or challenges students faced during practice.

  • practice of the proper placement of tips.

  • Continued practice of Basic Gel Extensions using tips, creating shapes: oval, almond, and square.

  • Practical Exam: Students will create gel nail extensions in the assigned shapes (oval, almond, or square) on their model or their own nails, unaided.

  • Theory Exam: Students will complete a written theory test covering all course material, unaided.

Certification

Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Kohana Professional Certificate, accredited by AIT. (Associated Irish Therapists). In order to receive your Certification, its required to pass both theoretical and practical exams conducted on Day 2. 

Please note:

*Previous training in basic gel polish and e-file training is required before attending this course.

*Proof of such training and completion of these certificates may be requested before the start date of this course.

*Lunch is provided on day. you are welcome to bring your own if desired. shop facilities next door.

* The course educator will be in touch via text message the evening before, on the number provided upon booking the course, to inform and confirm the course start time, details if any changes and if anything else may be required.

Terms & Conditions

Age Restrictions:

Courses are suitable for those aged 16 or over, unless otherwise stated.

 

Course Schedule:

All courses are subject to demand. In the unlikely event that a course or workshop does not obtain the necessary numbers in order to initially run, applicants will receive a full refund or the opportunity to change their application to the next time that course runs.

In the rare event that a course structure must be changed or amended, students will be given notice. The training centre reserves the right to change course dates, times and duration at its own discretion and where it feels necessary.

 

 

Cancellations:

If you wish to cancel a course booking, you must do so no later than 10 days before the course start date, otherwise the deposit payment can not be refunded. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled less than 10 days before the course date. This is also the case for any “no-show” attendances. It is the students responsibility to remember their course dates and times and reply within the given time if something has changed for them.

 

Deposit Payment:

A deposit payment of 50% is required upon booking to secure placings.

The outstanding amount is due by/on the day of the course.

Applicants have the option to pay the course fees in full or secure their place with a 50% deposit payment online and pay the balance on the course date in store with cash. i do not have a card machine in salon at this time. Payment can be made via cash on the day or card online before the course date. (We do not accept personal cheques).

Attending a course at Emma Forde Nail Academy:

You will be contacted a day prior to your course start date via text message with a reminder for the day and time to attend. Deposits

are non-refundable/transferable in the event of a no-show without proper notice within the appropriate time as mentioned above.
